Kobalt Clients Earn 90 Grammy Nominations

Kobalt, the leading independent music publishing and global rights management services company, today announced an impressive list of GRAMMY nominations among its clients across all divisions (KNR / KMP / KLS) including, Max Martin, Paul McCartney, Bruno Mars, Ellie Goulding, Bob Dylan, Skrillex and Dr. Luke.

The total nominations span a wide array of categories, including but not limited to, Best Solo Performance, Best Duo/Group Performance and Best Album. In addition, multiple writers are nominated for the evening’s most coveted awards such as, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

Acclaimed songwriter/producer, Max Martin, is recognized with some of the Recording Academy’s most prestigious nominations, including two for Record of the Year (Blank Space, Taylor Swift; Can’t Feel My Face, The Weeknd) and Album of the Year (1989, Taylor Swift; Beauty Behind The Madness, The Weeknd) as well as Best Album, Best Song, Best Compilation, Best Solo Performance. Also notable, Ellie Goulding for Best Pop Solo Performance, “Love Me Like You Do;” Lloyd “Gitsy” Willis (via Blue Mountain) for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album, for Pitbull’s album, Dale; and the Foo Fighters for Best Rock Performance, “Something From Nothing.”

Collectively, more than 20 of Kobalt’s clients have received Best Album nominations in their respective genres including, Björk for Best Alternative Music Album, Vulnicura; Punch Brothers for Best Americana Album category, The Phosphorescent Blues; Robert Glasper for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Covered: Recorded Live At Capitol Studios; Scott Stevens for Best Rock Album, Mister Asylum by Highly Suspect; and Courtney Harrell for Best Gospel Album, Living It, by Dorinda Clark-Cole.

Country music hitmaker, Shane McAnally, earned four nominations in total — two in the Best Country Album category for his work on Sam Hunt’s, Montevallo, and on Kacey Musgraves’, Pageant Material; and for Best Pop Solo Performance, John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16 by Keith Urban. He also earned a nod in a breakout genre for Best Pop Vocal Album for Kelly Clarkson’s, Piece by Piece.
